Several Vinaphone network users in Hanoi on Friday said their phones cannot text, call others or access the Internet using 4G.

"I was making a call when the signal was lost. I’ve tried multiple times to make the call again, but they all failed," said Ngoc Hai from Hanoi. Several other users also reported a sudden loss of signal even though they made no changes to their phones’ settings.

In HCMC, users of the network said while their signal were not entirely lost, they were fickle. Thanh Que, an office worker of District 1, said her phone cannot make calls, but can still access the Internet with 3G, though with low speed.

A representative of Vinaphone said a network issue is causing disruption in certain areas.

Several users of the virtual network Wintel, which utilizes infrastructures by Vinaphone, also encountered similar issues.

Pho Van Tu, who lives in Hanoi’s Cau Giay District, said he used two SIM cards belonging to Wintel and Vinaphone, and both had either signal losses or disruption.

By around 5 p.m., most Vinaphone users reported that communication has resumed as normal.
