Vietnam sends $500,000 aid to Palestinians

Meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Wednesday, he said the aid would be sent through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

He left Hanoi on Tuesday to attend the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties in the UAE, and take part in bilateral activities in the UAE and Turkey from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3.

Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong also made a statement on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Wednesday to express support for the Palestinian people.

Vietnam is ready to join the concerted efforts of the international community to promote dialogue and humanitarian assistance to people in conflict areas, contributing to ensuring peace, security and stability in the region and the world, he said in the message sent to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, President of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People Cheikh Niang, and President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas.
