A Vietnamese woman coming from the U.K. and an Indian man have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, taking Vietnam’s Covid-19 active cases to 47.

The Indian, 48, came from India to work as an expert for a company in Dong Nai Province, which borders Ho Chi Minh City.

He landed Tuesday at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport on IndiGo Airways flight 6E9471 and was sent to a centralized quarantine facility in Dong Nai.

Two days ago, five other Indian people aged 31-66 who’d also arrived in Vietnam on the same flight to work for a company in the Mekong Delta’s Dong Thap Province were confirmed Covid-19 patients.

The Vietnamese woman, 33, lives in HCMC’s District 2.

She was studying in London and returned home on Vietnam Airlines flight VN0054 that landed October 3 at Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

She was quarantined and is undergoing treatment in another northern province, Hai Duong.

The latest patients were tested while under quarantine and their test results returned positive for the virus on Saturday.

Of Vietnam’s 1,109 Covid-19 cases, 1,024 have recovered and 35 have died.

Sunday marks 38 days in a row that Vietnam has gone without recording any community transmission of the virus.

Worldwide, Covid-19 has claimed 1.078 million lives.
