Vietnam recorded two more Covid-19 deaths Saturday afternoon, bringing the national fatality tally to 112.

One of the deceased patients, a 59-year-old woman in HCMC, had hypertension. She tested positive for the coronavirus on July 3 and was transferred to a field hospital in the neighboring Long An Province.

She died on July 7. Her causes of death were pneumonia caused by Covid-19 and blood poisoning.

The other patient, a 64-year-old woman in the northern province of Bac Giang, had diabetes and thyroid cancer. She tested positive on June 6 and was transferred to the Bac Giang Mental Hospital, then to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi on June 22.

She died on July 7. Her causes of death were pneumonia caused by Covid-19, septic shock and multiple organ failure.

In Vietnam's fourth coronavirus wave since late April, 77 people have died due to Covid-19.
