Vietnam records 26,471 new Covid-19 cases

Health authorities confirmed 26,471 Covid-19 cases Friday, raising the domestic tally in the ongoing wave to 2,427,585.

Hanoi continued to lead the daily tally with 2,908 cases, followed by Nghe An with 1,501 and Hai Duong with 1,447.

Friday’s confirmation included 96 deaths, pushing Vietnam’s Covid-19 death toll to 38,688 people.

Total recoveries rose to 2,212,669 with the addition of 6,075 cases Friday.

Vietnam has recorded 225 Omicron infections to date, including 125 in HCMC.

Nationwide, 79.1 million people have received their first Covid-19 vaccine shots, 74.6 million have received their second and 31 million have received their third shots.
