Vietnam records 15,100 new Covid cases

Vietnam confirmed 15,100 local Covid-19 cases Saturday, bringing the infection tally in the ongoing wave to 2,203,904.

The three localities with the highest numbers of patients are Hanoi with 2,806 cases, Bac Ninh with 992 cases and Da Nang with 865 cases.

Vietnam has recorded 166 infections with the Omicron variant so far.

115 deaths were added to the national database on Saturday, with Hanoi leading the death toll with 27 cases. The total number of deaths so far is 37,547 cases, or 1.7 percent of all infections.

12,353 Covid-19 patients were announced recovered on Saturday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 1,962,597.

74 million of the country's 98-million population have received two Covid vaccine shots and 27.7 million have received three.
