The government has instructed the Ministry of Health to make plans to vaccinate infants aged six months and above against Covid-19 starting next year.

The order came Friday as the government continued to push for greater vaccination coverage amid low demand for booster shots in various localities.

Cities and provinces should not waste vaccines, the government office has said.

Authorities have administered 238 million doses to people aged from five years onwards. Most children aged 12 and above have been given two shots.

The U.S. CDC on June 19 recommended Covid vaccination for infants aged six months and above.
