Vietnam confirms 3,458 new Covid-19 cases

Health authorities confirmed 3,458 new Covid-19 cases Wednesday, up 519 from a day before, bringing the fourth wave tally to 845,050.

HCMC led with 1,162 new cases, followed by Binh Duong, 501, and Dong Nai, 486.

Hanoi recorded 29 new cases.

1,191 patients were discharged, bring the tally to 787,286.

106 deaths were recorded, mostly in HCMC, bringing the country’s death toll since the pandemic started to 20,869.

Vietnam has given 56.3 million vaccine doses, in which 16.4 are second.

Hanoi will resume on-site services at restaurants and coffee shops starting 6 a.m. Thursday with 50 percent of capacity allowed.
