Vietnam confirms 2,568 new local Covid-19 cases

Health authorities recorded 2,568 new local Covid-19 cases Wednesday evening, bringing the figure in the day to 5,343.

Among the 2,568 cases, HCMC accounted for 1,817, followed by Binh Duong Province, 307, and Dong Thap Province, 109. Hanoi recorded 38 new cases.

On Wednesday, a total of 5,343 local cases have been confirmed, second highest in the pandemic behind July 18 with 5,887 cases.

64,457 local cases have been confirmed since April 27, led by HCMC with 41,343 cases.

528 patients were discharged Wednesday, bringing the total in the pandemic to 11,971. 141 patients are in severe conditions.

The Covid-19 fatality is at 334, with 36 cases recorded in the last four days.

Nearly 4.34 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have injected, with over 317,672 people having received two doses.

Ten localities have gone 14 days without any new case recorded.
