Vietnam adds 9,342 cases to Covid-19 tally

The Health Ministry announced 9,342 new Covid-19 cases Monday, down 669 cases from the previous day, raising the domestic tally of the ongoing wave to 761,528.

The three localities with the highest number of new cases were Ho Chi Minh City with 4,134 cases, Binh Duong with 3,793 cases and Dong Nai with 616 cases.

Of the day's tally, 4,453 cases were detected in the community.

The health ministry also confirmed 10,528 discharges the same day, bringing the total tally of recovered cases so far to 538,454.

The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam rose to 18,758 with the confirmation of 174 deaths Monday.

The average number of new cases in the country for the past seven days has been 10,035 a day while the national death rate over the past week has been 208 a day on average.

The country has vaccinated over 39.23 million people with at least one Covid-19 vaccine shot. Over 8.2 million have been fully vaccinated.
