Various people, including children on their parent's motorbikes and those riding their own bicycles to school, were waiting at the red light at the intersection of An Duong Vuong and Ho Dac Di in Hue in central Vietnam at around 7 a.m.
Roughly 10 seconds before the light was due to turn green, a taxi approaching from behind plowed into the bicycles and motorbikes.
The impact caused several motorbikes to crash into another car, while five motorbikes and bicycles were knocked onto the sidewalk. Six people were carried to hospitals afterwards but sustained no life-threatening injuries.
The taxi stopped after five meters as a motorbike was stuck in its front. The elderly motorbike driver emerged from the incident in a state of shock.
