Pickup truck crashes into motorcyclists at intersection, kills one

A pickup truck hit a series of motorcyclists at an intersection in Tan Uyen City of the southern Binh Duong Province on Sunday afternoon, resulting in one fatality.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when Tong Thanh Tinh, 37, driving the pickup truck, approached the An Phu 3 intersection in Tan Uyen.

The truck unexpectedly crashed into several motorcyclists ahead, before swerving onto the sidewalk, causing damage to trees and traffic signs.

The collision caused numerous people to be thrown onto the road.

A 34-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after receiving first aid from bystanders and being rushed to the hospital, while three others sustained injuries. He was later identified as a resident of the northern Nam Dinh Province who was working in Binh Duong.

The pickup truck's front wheel was dislodged, and three motorcycles suffered extensive damage, being dragged for several meters.

Thuan An City police have confirmed that Tinh tested negative for both drugs and alcohol. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the cause of the accident.
