A convoy of luxury cars and high-end motorbikes has been fined over VND167 million ($6,542) after being recorded speeding through a red light in downtown Da Nang during a parade for a beauty parlor franchise.

The incident occurred on Sunday when eight luxury vehicles, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Porsche, Morgan, and BMW, along with three cruiser motorbikes traveled from Da Nang International Airport towards the iconic Dragon Bridge.

As they reached Phan Chu Trinh Street in Hai Chau District, several vehicles blatantly disregarded traffic signals.

Footage captured by bystanders quickly spread on social media, prompting local authorities to investigate.

On March 18, Da Nang traffic police issued fines against the car owners for multiple violations, including running red lights, and revoked the drivers' licenses.

The convoy belonged to Hoang Kim Khanh and Phan Thi Mai, owners of the Mailisa beauty parlor franchise. The parade marked the franchise's three-year anniversary.

Mai, Mailisa's general director, acknowledged the violation, explaining that the leading vehicle crossed during a green signal, causing subsequent cars to follow through the red lights. She described the incident as an "unintentional mistake."
