Schools of Sunshine is a program launched by Hope Foundation to improve educational conditions for disadvantaged children nationwide.

Located more than 40 kilometers from the center of Song Ma District, Son La Province, Huoi Khoang School serves as the sole learning space for over 100 H'mong and Thai students from surrounding villages.

Originally built from wood in 2002, the school had fallen into severe disrepair after two decades of use, creating unsafe conditions for both students and teachers. With only three classrooms, no staff room, and makeshift sanitation facilities, teachers faced daily challenges in maintaining a stable living and teaching environment.

With funding from Hope Foundation and partner organizations, Huoi Khoang School has been newly rebuilt with three classrooms, two staff rooms, and one restroom, bringing joy not only to the teachers and students but also to parents in the village.

Huoi Khoang is among 360 schools that Hope Foundation has supported in building and renovating facilities since 2018, aiming to bridge the educational gap between mountainous and lowland areas, rural and urban regions.

These activities are part of the "Schools of Sunshine" program, which focuses on building classrooms, staff housing, kitchens, dormitories, restrooms, and showers, along with equipping electronic libraries and providing nutritional support.

The program operates in remote and disadvantaged areas across Vietnam, including Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Son La, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, and Binh Phuoc Provinces.

In 2025, "Schools of Sunshine" aims to build 13 new schools, 100 sanitation facilities; repair 55 schools, provide 50 e-libraries, and support nutrition for 1,500 underprivileged students.

The future of children in disadvantaged areas will be built from your contributions today.
