The session, which occurred on March 15, involved several photographers and a hired female model.
The Bau Bang District cultural and information department, in coordination with the Bau Bang police and inspectors from the Binh Duong Department of Information and Communication, summoned a 47-year-old photographer from HCMC on Wednesday to question about the incident. The inquiry follows a video clip circulating on social media that shows the group photographing a naked woman by the roadside on the My Phuoc-Tan Van road.
According to the photographer, a group of photographers had hired the model for a two-hour "nude art photography" session on March 15, paying her VND1.5 million ($60.16). The shoot was originally intended to take place within a rubber tree garden. However, after completing the session in the garden, the photographers noticed the empty road and decided it would serve as an ideal backdrop for additional photos. The moment captured in the viral video depicts this shoot.
The photographer emphasized that while he had shared images from the garden shoot on his personal account on July 30, none of the roadside photos were uploaded.
Local authorities are currently verifying the details of the incident to determine appropriate measures.
Dang Thi Thuy Huyen, a lawyer at HPL and Partners law firm, noted that taking nude photos in public spaces, where passersby may witness the scene, could violate social norms and public order regulations. Depending on the investigation's findings, those involved could face fines of up to VND8 million if the act is deemed to constitute pornography.
