A passenger at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport left his wallet with VND130 million ($5,535) in luggage cart on Thursday. In a New Year's miracle, he got it back.

The wallet was discovered by Nguyen Nhu Duong, a security employee at the airport, while he was directing traffic at the domestic terminal.

Duong informed security personnel about the wallet so it could be checked for explosives, among other procedures. The wallet contained VND130 million in cash, a driver's license and other personal papers.

The wallet was returned to its owner 30 minutes later. The owner said he flew from Da Nang to Hanoi, and he left the wallet on the cart as he was loading his luggage and golf equipment.

He only realized that his wallet was missing once he reached downtown, so he contacted the Noi Bai Security Center and received his wallet back.
