Hanoi security personnel return bag with $50,000 to forgetful passenger

Personnel at Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport Monday returned a bag containing VND1.2 billion ($50,840) in cash to a passenger who left it next to a baggage carousel.

The bag was found by Nguyen Duc Tue, who was on duty at the domestic terminal. He informed security personnel about the bag so that it could be checked. But it turned out that it contained VND500,000 bills and some personal papers.

The officers then checked camera footage and identified the owner.

The owner had flown in from Da Nang, and forgot the bag as he left in a hurry. After going to his hotel he found the bag missing and contacted Noi Bai’s security center.

An airport spokesperson said security personnel have returned 353 lost items to passengers so far this year.
