A train on the Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro line in Hanoi had to stop along its route on Saturday morning, forcing around 300 passengers to be transferred to public buses to complete their journey.

The train stopped at around 10 a.m. after going through eight of the line’s 12 stations, due to a problem with its recorded signal warning system, according to a metro line manager.

While the problem was being fixed, traffic between the first eight stations of the line continued.

After 45 minutes, the line’s operation resumed as normal.

On May 23 last year, a Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro train was also forced to stop while en route; a manager explained that the line was slippery due to the rain, and so the train had to switch from automatic driving to manual driving.

The metro line was put in use in November 2021 as the first of its kind in Vietnam. The line runs 13 kilometers and each train is designed to carry 960 passengers, with a maximum speed of 80 kph.
