A German vessel on Monday rescued 14 crew members of a ship in the seas of southern Binh Thuan Province after they spent 10 hours stranded in water.

The Barzan vessel, while it was carrying goods from China to Singapore, rescued the stranded crew members at around 12:20 p.m., according to the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center of Area 3 in Vung Tau City.

At around 3:30 a.m. the same day, the vessel of Huynh Van Ban, 37, from central Binh Dinh Province, was carrying 13 others to fish around 92 nautical miles (over 165 km) away from Phu Quy Island when the ship was sunk by waves. As captain Ban broadcast distress signals, other crew members held onto floating objects. Before the incident happened, the ship had already spent over two weeks at sea.

The seas of Binh Thuan have been seeing unfavorable weather conditions over the past few days, with heavy rains, strong winds and rough seas.
