A French naval frigate will dock in Cam Ranh Port in central Vietnam for a five-day visit until Saturday as part of its missions in Asia.

The visit by the Vendémiaire frigate of the French Navy is a highlight for Vietnam-France relations and also showcases France’s commitment to freedom of navigation and overflight at sea, said French ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery, according to a press release by the French Embassy in Vietnam.

The Vendémiaire is a Floréal-class frigate that spans 93.5 m and has a maximum speed of 37 kph. It is equipped with cannons and a helicopter.
