Vo Thi My Hanh, 26, the former flight attendant, had close contact with attendants still working and asked them to provide the services to "high-end" clients.
Hanh was arrested after police raided a hotel on Le Thi Rieng Street in downtown District 1 on Wednesday night and caught four women providing sex services. Three of them are flight attendants and the other a photo model.
The women said Hanh asked them to join the business.
They charged $1,000 per session, and $3,000 if they spent the night with the client.
Hanh took VND7 million (US$295) per session as brokerage fee. Police said she had earned more than VND1 billion from the business.
Investigators found that Hanh had promoted herself as a successful woman on social media, posting photos of her buying luxury items and traveling to famous places. She billed herself as a role model of young women. Her social media channels have more than 300,000 followers.
She quit her job as a flight attendant several months ago before starting the sex business. At the time of her arrest, Hanh was managing around 30 sex workers, most of whom were flight attendants and models.
Most of the clients were from Hanoi, HCMC and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, which borders HCMC. They contacted Hanh via social media and she would arrange the services to be provided at hotels and resorts. She had luxury cars transport the women to and from the sex work.
Hanh also provided the services herself.
Prostitution is considered a social evil in Vietnam and sex brokerage a criminal offense.
