European man beats disabled Vietnam bar staff to death

On New Year’s Eve a fight broke out on Bach Dang Street between a group of Europeans and staff of the Simple Ma and Golden Pine bars in the central Vietnam's city.

In the brawl, Le Ngoc Chuan, 36, of Golden Pine, was repeatedly hit in the head by one of the Europeans until he passed out.

Chuan was immediately taken to hospital but he died Sunday afternoon.

Police in Hai Chau District said they have begun investigations, Cong An Nhan Dan newspaper reported.

Chuan was reportedly from a poor background and had a young child. His wife is five months pregnant with their second child.

He was reportedly a friendly person who was well-liked by his customers.

No information is available about the attacker.
