Westlink International School Hanoi has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to deliver the IB Middle Years Program (MYP), completing a key step in the school's development of a full IB learning pathway from the Primary Years Program (PYP) through MYP and toward the IB Diploma Program (DP).

The authorization follows a multi-year evaluation process assessing alignment with IB standards in areas including teaching and learning, leadership, curriculum design, and student support systems.

"I feel incredibly proud and grateful. This process has taken dedication from every teacher, every student, and every department," said Marianella Araya Rivera, MYP Coordinator at Westlink. "The authorization reflects sustained collaboration, reflection, and planning across the school community."

The authorization strengthens Westlink's long-term academic strategy and supports its stated aim of delivering internationally benchmarked education. It also signals continuity in curriculum development and adherence to IB educational principles such as inquiry-based learning, international-mindedness, and academic rigor.

The IB Middle Years Program is designed for students aged 11 to 16, from Grades 6 to 10.

The framework emphasizes inquiry-based instruction, interdisciplinary learning, and the development of skills associated with global citizenship. At Westlink, the MYP is implemented as part of a structured progression toward upper secondary education.

The MYP focuses on academic, social, and personal development, supporting students in building skills related to critical thinking, communication, and independent learning. Westlink's MYP implementation encourages students to explore real-world contexts and make connections across subject areas through project-based learning and assessments.

Learning activities include collaborative projects, community engagement, and the Personal Project, a core MYP component that requires students to apply learning independently over an extended period. The program is designed to prepare students for the academic expectations of the IB Diploma Program.

During the evaluation process, Westlink highlighted collaboration among staff, instructional quality, and engagement with parents. The school's student body represents more than 30 nationalities, contributing to a diverse learning environment aligned with IB values.

Westlink operates on a 2.5-hectare Lotus-certified campus in Tay Ho Tay, Hanoi, with facilities including STEAM laboratories, arts and sports spaces, and flexible learning areas that support interdisciplinary and experiential learning approaches.

As a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a U.K.-based global education group, Westlink offers students access to international learning networks and globally recognized academic pathways.

The school integrates the IB Learner Profile, IB Approaches to Learning (ATL), and ISP Life Competencies into its educational framework. Students participate in leadership and service activities such as Student Council and Service as Action, which aim to develop collaboration, responsibility, and civic engagement.

Westlink emphasizes student well-being through structured support systems, including a dedicated Inclusion Team. The school states that these measures aim to ensure students are academically prepared while also supported in their personal development.

Westlink International School is currently accepting applications for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 academic years. Scholarship opportunities are available for IB programs.
