Hoiana Resort & Golf's journey of fulfilling dreams and building community

Ngan and Hau are among 13 underprivileged students from Thang Binh District of the central Vietnam province supported by Hoiana through the Children of Vietnam Organization (COV). This initiative has enabled them to pursue their education, paving the way for a brighter future.

Steven Wolstenholme, President and CEO of Hoiana Resort & Golf, emphasized that this effort is part of Hoiana's commitment to local development, measuring success not solely by profit but also by the lasting impact on surrounding communities.

"Our vision extends beyond building a massive project—we aim to lay the foundation for a flourishing future for the youth of Quang Nam," Wolstenholme said. The achievements of these students have inspired Hoiana to strengthen its long-term mission.

From sand dunes to a luxury tourism hub

Visitors to Hoiana Resort & Golf might be surprised to learn that this destination once consisted of barren white sand dunes. Overcoming numerous challenges, from the pandemic to urban planning hurdles, the project has transformed into a symbol of growth and sustainable development.

In March 2024, during the "Planning of Quang Nam Province in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050" conference, Hoiana pledged approximately $1 billion in investment, contingent on favorable legal frameworks. The approval of the 1/2000 and 1/500 key urban construction plans has laid a solid foundation for Hoiana's next phases.

More than a luxury resort, Hoiana is evolving into a thriving satellite city, meeting demands for residence, tourism, and international investment. Located near UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, Hoiana is unlocking new opportunities for tourism and economic development.

With its strategic vision, Hoiana aims to establish itself as a premier high-end tourism hub, competing with regional destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. Central to its sustainable strategy are green urban planning principles, renewable energy, and eco-friendly technologies.

Hoiana's second phase is expected to generate over 2,500 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs, significantly contributing to local workforce development and economic growth.

"Hoiana is not just a resort; it's an advanced, green satellite city," Wolstenholme said. "We continue to collaborate with local authorities and organizations to ensure sustainable development while preserving Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary."

The resort will celebrate the first anniversary of the Hoiana Academy—a platform designed to equip employees with essential skills. As 2025 approaches, Hoiana's path forward focuses on growth and sustainability. These efforts aim to unlock economic opportunities while fostering a strong sense of community, aligning with the vision of Steven Wolstenholme and Hoiana's shareholders.

In February 2025, Steven Wolstenholme will conclude his seven-year tenure at Hoiana. Throughout his leadership, he has steered the project through challenges and achieved significant milestones.

As the project embarks on its next chapter, Steven will begin a new phase of his career, carrying forward the achievements he has crafted with Hoiana.
