Czech returnees, Indian experts up Vietnam's Covid-19 tally

The two Vietnamese, tagged as patients 1313 and 1314, are a 55-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman. They returned to Vietnam last Sunday on Bamboo Airways flight QH9062 that landed in southern Can Tho City from the Czech Republic.

They tested positive for the novel coronavirus the next day at a centralized camp in nearby Vinh Long Province. The two patients are now being treated at the Vinh Long Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Hospital.

Patients 1315 and 1316, two Indian men aged 30 and 38, landed November 20 in Hanoi on IndiGo Airlines flight 6E8679 from India. After their test results returned positive on Monday, they are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in the city.

The four new patients have raised Vietnam's Covid-19 tally to 1,316, with 1,153 recoveries and 35 deaths. Two of the recoveries were announced Tuesday.

The nation has gone 82 straight days without recording any community transmission of the novel coronavirus.

Worldwide, Covid-19 deaths have crossed 1.4 million.
