Interpol-wanted Chinese fraudster arrested in Vietnam

Huang Yue, a 29-year-old Chinese national and member of a transnational fraud syndicate wanted by Interpol, has been arrested in Nha Trang in central Vietnam.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police announced that Yue was detained on Aug. 1 and subsequently transferred to Chinese authorities at the Vietnam-China border in Lang Son Province, in compliance with legal protocols and diplomatic principles.

Yue is linked to a transnational criminal organization engaged in fraudulent property appropriation.

The Yiwu City People's Court in Zhejiang Province, China, had earlier issued an arrest warrant for him on charges of fraud.

After fleeing in August 2020, he was placed on Interpol's red notice list on Nov. 23, 2021.

Following an investigation, Khanh Hoa police located Yue residing in a building in Nha Trang, a popular tourist beach town, and conducted a raid to apprehend him.
