26 arrested for trafficking 300 kg of drugs from Laos to HCMC

Police arrested 26 individuals transporting nearly 300 kg of drugs, hidden in tea and coffee packages, from Laos to Ho Chi Minh City in an international drug trafficking bust.

Ho Chi Minh City Police announced on Sunday that it is expanding its investigation on the case. It has not yet provided the identities or specific actions of the suspects.

Surveillance had previously detected a group of people transporting drugs from Laos to Ho Chi Minh City using buses.

Ho Chi Minh City Police then coordinated with the Investigation Police Department on Drug-Related Crimes and relevant localities to plan the crackdown. The forces simultaneously inspected and arrested 26 suspects, seizing nearly 300 kg of drugs, guns, and other documents and evidence related to the case.
