The Oct. 14 raid took place in Svay Ta Ok Village, Vela Sbov Commune, within Chbar Ampov District, where police uncovered what they described as a call center targeting Vietnamese victims, Khmer Times reported.
"The suspects used the location as a call center to carry out scam activities targeting Vietnamese nationals. Under the guise of winning a prize or other forms of persuasion, they would obtain credit card numbers from their victims and then steal money from their accounts," the police said, Phnom Penh Post reported.
The arrests come amid Cambodia's ongoing nationwide campaign to crack down on online scams. In July, authorities vowed to take the "strictest legal action" against the masterminds behind such operations.
