86 teenage students in the north central province of Thanh Hoa were hospitalized Wednesday after receiving their Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine shots, but have all stabilized.

The students, between 15 and 17 years of age, in Hoang Hoa District experienced nausea, headache, dizziness and chill after getting their first shots, according to the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control. By 9 p.m. Wednesday, 19 of them have been discharged.

The cause of their symptoms has yet to be confirmed, the committee added.

Hoang Hoa planned to vaccinate around 7,000 students aged 15-17 with their first Covid-19 vaccine shots on the first two days of December, the Department of Health said.

Thanh Hoa plans to give 117,000 Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine doses to children aged 12-17, either at vaccination sites in schools or at medical facilities.

Over the past week, three children died following their vaccination with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in Bac Giang, Hanoi and Binh Phuoc. The cause of death has been determined as "overreaction to the vaccine."

Last week, four workers in Thanh Hoa's Kim Viet Shoe factory died following their Vero Cell Covid-19 vaccination, also due to "overreaction."
