Dak Lak Police issued the warrants on Thursday against the five men aged between 31 and 63, for terrorism. They are from Dak Lak and the neighboring Dak Nong Province.
Police said they were involved in the gun attack at two commune People's Committee offices that also housed local police offices in Dak Lak in the early hours of June 11. The attack killed two commune leaders, four police officers and three civilians. Two other police officers and many people were injured.

The Ministry of Public Security has determined that the attack was a serious terrorist one against the Vietnamese people's government, which received orders and assistance from overseas.
Dak Lak police have put 92 people under criminal investigation for their involvement in the attack. They face charges of terrorism, not reporting crimes, concealing criminals, and brokering illegal entry to Vietnam.
One of the arrested was member of a U.S.-based organization who received orders from the group to enter Vietnam and carry out the attack, an investigation found.
The attackers' actions were described by the ministry as "very brutal, inhumane and showed determination of commit the criminal mission by any means."
Several people arrested said they were ordered to kill any officials and police officers they encountered.
The police seized many weapons including 23 guns, two grenades, nearly 1,200 grenades and 30 knives from the attackers.
