Over 350 workers at a South Korean company in Vinh Phuc Province suffered food poisoning after eating lunch on Tuesday.

Over 3,290 workers at Shinwon Ebenezer Vietnam textile company ate lunch in two batches at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The meal, cooked at the company, comprised chicken, broccoli, legumes, and pickles.

By 2 p.m. five workers began to experience stomachache and nausea, and were taken to the Lac Viet Friendship Hospital. Several more displayed similar symptoms later, with some even passing out.

The company reported that by 5 p.m. 351 had symptoms of food poisoning and were taken to various medical facilities in the northern province, including to its clinic.

A Lac Viet Hospital spokesperson said over 200 workers had been admitted with food poisoning symptoms, but no one was too ill.

Police and other authorities have discussed the issue with the company.

The Vinh Phuc Department of Health has collected food samples to identify the cause of the outbreak.
