VN-Index's rising streak continues

Vietnam's benchmark VN-Index rose 0.85% to 1,245.5 points Wednesday in its sixth consecutive session in the green.

The index closed 10.52 points higher after gaining 10.93 points on Tuesday.

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) increased by 2.74% to VND25.24 trillion ($1.05 billion).

The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 22 tickers gain.

HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group went up 4.3%, followed by VPB of private lender VPBank with a 3.8% rise.

FPT of IT giant FPT Corporation closed 2.3% higher and GAS of state-owned Petrovietnam Gas increased by 1.9%.

Four blue chips fell, including VIC of private conglomerate Vingroup with a 1.1% decline.

Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND102.16 billion, mainly selling HDG of Ha Do Group.

The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, where mid and small caps list, was up 1.22% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market was up by 0.29%.
