VN-Index decreases slightly

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index fell 0.2% to 1,281.52 points Monday.

The index closed 2.57 points lower after losing 6 points in the previous session.

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) increased by 0.36% to VND23.288 trillion (US$939 million).

The VN30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 18 tickers fell.

MBB of state-owned MB Bank went down 2%, TPB of private lender TPBank fell 1.8% and CTG of state-owned lender VietinBank slid 1.6%.

Ten blue chips gained. SSI of brokerage SSI Securities Corporation grew 0.8%, MWG of electronics retail chain Mobile World went up 0.6% and GAS of state-owned Petrovietnam Gas increased by 0.5%.

Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND723 billion, mainly selling MSN of conglomerate Masan Group and SSI of SSI Securities.

The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, rose 0.13% while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market fell 0.26%.
