SJC gold price rose 1.59% to VND79.7 million ($3,269.74) per tael.

On Tuesday gold price surged to a new peak of VND80.3 million per tael but plunged quickly and closed the day at VND78.45 million.

Gold ring price went up 1.11% to VND63.8 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally gold price holds above $2,060 during the early Asian session on Wednesday. The last week of 2023 is likely to be quiet amid the light trading volume, according to financial data platform FXStreet.

Gold price was trading at $2,066, losing 0.09% on the day.

The U.S. dollar was broadly weaker against its rivals. Meanwhile, the dollar dropped to its lowest level since July near 101.45.
