SJC gold price rose 0.22% to VND69.3 million ($2,846.58) per tael Wednesday morning, a new height this year.

Gold ring price was stable at VND58 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally gold prices were subdued on Wednesday as investors remained on guard for the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy decision and its updated outlook on economy as a surge in fuel prices adds to inflationary pressures, Reuters reported.

Spot gold was steady at $1,930.51 per ounce, holding below its highest level since Sept. 5 reached on Tuesday. U.S. gold futures eased 0.1% to $1,951.70.
