Gold heads up after steep fall

Within two hours, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) gold bar price rose 1.97% to VND77.5 million ($3,194.56) per tael from the day’s bottom at VND76 million.

The rate, however, was still 2.52% lower from Wednesday’s closing price.

Gold ring price went up 0.24% from the beginning of the day to reach VND63.95 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Gold price gained traction above a record close of $2,070 during the early Asian session on Thursday, according to financial data platform FXStreet.

The upward momentum of yellow metal is bolstered by the softer U.S. Dollar across the board. Gold price currently trades near $2,080, gaining 0.09% on the day, it added.
