Gasoline prices on Thursday rose to the highest since early October last year while diesel hit a five-week peak.

The popular fuel RON95 went up 3.14% to VND24,280 ($0.98) per liter.

Biofuel E5 RON92 gained 3.2% to VND23,210.

Diesel rose 2.28% to VND21,010.

Global fuel prices have been fluctuating in the last seven days due to Ukraine’s rising military activity aiming at Russian oil refineries and continued tension in the Middle East, according to Vietnamese authorities.

In the last seven days gasoline prices rose on average 3.7-4% while oils went up 2.4-5%.
