The USD is sold at VND24,200 on the black market on Saturday, down 0.08% from Friday.

The exchange rates at banks remain unchanged since Thursday given the holiday.

Vietcombank sells the dollar at VND24,240 Saturday, Eximbank at VND23,910, and Techcombank at VND23,867.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s reference rate is at VND23,977.

The USD/VND exchange rate has increased by 2.15% since the beginning of the year.

On the global market, the dollar gained against the euro and Japanese yen on Friday after report of labor market remaining strong in August.

The dollar index is up 0.08% on the week. The euro fell 0.59% to $1.0779, down 0.13% on the week against the U.S. currency, Reuters reported.

The greenback rose 0.42% to 146.145 Japanese yen, but it is down 0.12% on the week, dropping from a 10-month high of 147.375 on Tuesday, it said.
