The U.S. dollar fell marginally against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Thursday morning.

Unofficial exchange points sold the greenback at VND23,575, down 0.02% from Wednesday.

Most banks kept the dollar unchanged.

Vietcombank sold it at VND23,670, Eximbank VND23,620 and Techcombank VND23,679.

The State Bank of Vietnam maintained its reference rate at VND23,700.

The dollar has decreased against the dong by 0.25% since the beginning of the year.

The euro, which has been grinding higher on the dollar for about two weeks on signs of slowing U.S. inflation and hints of cooling in the labor market, faces its next test when the ECB meets later in the day. A 25 bp hike is expected. It is now at $1.0826.
