The U.S. dollar dropped against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Tuesday morning.

Unofficial exchange points sold the dollar at VND23,460, down 0.09% from last weekend.

Vietcombank kept the greenback unchanged at VND23,630.

The rate at Eximbank remained at VND23,680. Techcombank also kept the dollar stable at VND23,631.

The State Bank of Vietnam’s reference rate was unchanged at VND23,639.

The dollar has fallen against the dong by 0.42% since the beginning of the year.

Globally, the dollar rose to an almost two-week high against a basket of currencies on Monday before the Federal Reserve is expected to hike interest rates by an additional 25 basis points and after data showed that U.S. manufacturing pulled off a three-year low in April.
