According to 163, Liu’s latest project, the TV series "The Tale of Rose," has set new records in media metrics, advertising reach, and popularity. At 37, the actress convincingly portrays Huang Yimei, a 22-year-old intelligent and beautiful student.

Throughout the series, Liu adapts her appearance to reflect her character's journey. In romantic scenes, she styles her hair in soft curls to accentuate her delicate features. To maintain her hair’s health and shine, she follows these habits:

Washing hair less frequently: Liu washes her hair 2-3 times a week, depending on the weather, to retain natural oils and minimize frizz and breakage. Over-washing can strip moisture and lead to excess oil production.

Protecting from UV damage: Liu wears a wide-brimmed hat outdoors to protect her hair from UV rays, which can cause dryness and breakage.

Rich hair food diet: Liu maintains smooth, healthy hair by staying hydrated and eating a nutrient-rich diet. She includes dark leafy greens, seasonal fruits, milk, salmon, and biotin-rich foods like eggs, bananas, spinach, sweet potatoes, and broccoli to keep her hair glossy and resilient.

Also known as Crystal Liu, the 37-year-old actress made her first TV appearance in 2003 in the period romance drama "The Story of a Noble Family." The series emerged as the highest-rated show that year on the Chinese national broadcaster CCTV, catapulting her to stardom.

In 2008, she transitioned to film and has since appeared in a range of Chinese and Hollywood films, including the lead role in the 2020 live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1998 animated film "Mulan."

Her achievements earned her a place among the New Four Dan actresses of China in 2009, a term used to denote the four most bankable young actresses in the country.
