Liu Yifei’s 5-day diet plan is structured as follows:

Day 1 (Monday – Egg Day): Consume only eggs—2 boiled eggs for breakfast, 3 scrambled eggs for lunch, and 3 scrambled eggs for dinner.

Day 2 (Tuesday – Liquid Day): Stick to sugar-free beverages, such as black coffee, fresh milk, sugar-free soy milk, and sugar-free yogurt, or low-calorie soups like tomato egg soup and vegetable broth.

Day 3 (Wednesday – Meat Day): Focus on meat—beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, or seafood, prepared simply with minimal seasoning.

Day 4 (Thursday – Fruit Day): Eat only low-sugar fruits—such as tomatoes, apples, guava, blueberries, and strawberries, while avoiding high-sugar fruits.

Day 5 (Friday – Vegetable Day): Consume non-starchy vegetables—like broccoli, spinach, cucumbers, etc., which can be eaten cold, boiled, stir-fried, or in soups.

Dr. Yang Zhiwen of Xiaozhou Early Day Clinic noted that Liu Yifei's diet is effective for "emergency weight loss" because of its strict calorie restrictions. "From a caloric standpoint, consuming fewer calories will naturally lead to weight loss," Yang explained.

However, she warned that the diet's low-carb aspect could lead to dizziness and difficulty concentrating, particularly for those who are used to a carbohydrate-rich diet, making it only suitable for short-term use.

To make the plan safer, Yang suggests incorporating a daily green smoothie, focusing on vegetables, low-sugar fruits, unsaturated fats, plant-based proteins, vitamins, and antioxidants. She recommends using unsweetened almond or soy milk instead of regular milk and adding flaxseeds or chia seeds for Omega-3 and fiber. It's best to avoid adding extra sugar or too much fruit.

Yang cautioned that although the diet may lead to rapid weight loss, it carries significant risks, especially for individuals with digestive, liver, or kidney issues, as well as those with diabetes. Diabetics are particularly vulnerable to severe hypoglycemia or ketoacidosis if they reduce sugar intake without medical supervision.

She recommended that extreme diets should be followed only for short periods and under medical guidance to avoid health problems such as nutritional deficiencies, weakened immunity, and rebound weight gain. Consulting a doctor or nutritionist is crucial for achieving safe weight loss.

Also known as Crystal Liu, the 37-year-old actress made her first TV appearance in 2003 in the period romance drama "The Story of a Noble Family." The series emerged as the highest-rated show that year on the Chinese national broadcaster CCTV, catapulting her to stardom.

In 2008, she transitioned to film and has since appeared in a range of Chinese and Hollywood films, including the lead role in the 2020 live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1998 animated film "Mulan."

Her achievements earned her a place among the New Four Dan actresses of China in 2009, a term used to denote the four most bankable young actresses in the country.
