Orange and tangerine juice are high in vitamin C, which helps the body absorb plant-based iron effectively. Vitamin C converts non-heme iron from plants into a more absorbable form for the body. Avoid drinking on an empty stomach, before bed, or before brushing teeth because they are highly acidic.
