Taylor Swift’s outfit selection sparks sales boom for activewear brand Popflex

As reported by Yahoo! News Canada, Swift was seen wearing the skorts in a YouTube Shorts video that promoted her new album "The Tortured Poets Department," which was uploaded on April 19.

Ho, who is also a well-known fitness influencer, shared with Business Insider that Swift’s donning the item resulted in the largest sales day of the year for her brand, and the second largest ever. She also noted that this was the first occasion Popflex had offered pre-orders.

Swift and Ho have a history that goes back to 2014, when Swift invited Ho to a private listening party for her then-upcoming album "1989." This invitation followed Swift’s discovery of Ho’s YouTube exercise videos, which frequently included her songs in the background. Despite their long-standing connection, Ho confirmed that she did not send the skorts to Swift.

Swift, 35, initially gained fame within the country music genre before making a successful transition to pop music. Over her career, she has released a total of 15 albums, which includes four re-recorded albums known as Taylor’s Version.

Following the success of "The Eras Tour," Forbes estimated Swift’s net worth at US$1.1 billion, and Time magazine named her the "Person of the Year" for 2023.

Ho, 37, is an American of Vietnamese and Chinese descent. She was awarded a Shorty Award in 2013 for her contributions to social media content creation in the realm of social fitness, and she was also included in Time magazine’s third annual list of "The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet" in 2017.
