Rain on Monday morning left many capital residents stranded in rush hour congestion.

Rain in Hanoi is expected to stop on Tuesday. Tran Quang Nang of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that there will be two to three waves of cold air this month with average daytime temperatures in the northern region to fall below 25 degrees Celsius.  This winter will be colder than last year and the northern region will face more cold snaps before Dec. 25, he said.
