A couple take blankets, pillows and sheets to several locations around Hanoi like the West Lake and Long Bien Bridge and re-create their bedroom for pre-wedding photos.

In a photo taken on the 117-year-old bridge, the man is seen lying on the road on a blanket with sheets and pillows with his girlfriend on one arm as traffic flows past on the crowded street.

In other shots, they are seen on the roof of a house and the bustling Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square near Hoan Kiem Lake.

These pre-wedding pictures, taken on September 16, were the brainchild of photographer Le Cao Hai.

He explained: "The idea is that a young couple fall in love and ignore other people who are going about their own business. Life is ours, and we are young only once."

They had some trouble at Hoan Kiem Lake since the police came and told them not to gather there, and so they finished their work in just 10 minutes to ensure they did not block the traffic, he said.

He denied rumors they had been summoned by local authorities.

The photo shoots attracted both positive and negative comments from netizens, making the bride bashful and the bridegroom excited.

"Honestly, there are a lot of reckless styles of photography, but if they lie on grass to stay close to the nature, that will be more reasonable," one person commented on Facebook.

Others called the photos unique but not beautiful. "Strange, unique but crazy," a Facebooker said.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has sought to obtain more information about the photoshoots and reports and opinions from district authorities.
