The couple, both 35, announced their engagement Tuesday on Instagram with the caption: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," sharing photos from Kelce’s garden proposal.
Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL, was photographed on one knee presenting Swift with a ring featuring an old mine brilliant-cut diamond in a gold bezel setting. He worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the piece, Page Six reported.

Lubeck, described by the Daily Mail as "a goldsmith, hand engraver, and vintage jewelry collector," typically creates custom designs priced between $17,000 and $40,000, depending on the gemstones used.
Celebrity jeweler George Khalife, known professionally as George the Jeweler, told the Daily Mail: "This style is called a bezel setting (that’s the gold that wraps around the diamond) and it’s super popular right now, just like yellow gold in general." He added: "The whole look feels really antique, which I think suits Taylor perfectly."
George, who has worked with the Kardashian-Jenner family, Gigi Hadid, Shakira, and Megan Fox, estimated the diamond to be "close to 20 carats or more" with a value of $3.5–5 million.
Other experts believe the diamond may be smaller. Nilesh Rakholia, founder of Abelini, said it could be in the 7–10 carat range, which he noted "immediately places it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings," estimating a price closer to $1 million.
Victoria Hirakawa-Lee of CH Jewelers suggested the center stone may be 7–9 carats, adding that "a creation of this caliber, bespoke and clearly crafted with intention, could easily be valued in the million-dollar range."

Fine jeweler Hannah Florman, who specializes in high-end engagement rings, told People she believes the diamond is about 8 carats, with additional value because it is an antique old mine stone. "High-color antiques are extremely rare," she said, noting that historical cutting techniques often produced lower grades, making Swift’s stone unusually valuable.
Jillian Sassone, founder of Marrow Fine, told People that antique diamonds are one of a kind because of the way they were mined, meaning no two are ever the same. She described the ring as "effortless, classic, and very Swift."
Swift and Kelce first met in July 2023 when he attended her "Eras Tour" concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where he tried unsuccessfully to give her his phone number.
In September 2023, Swift sparked dating rumors when she appeared at a Chiefs game, watching from Kelce’s suite with his mother Donna. The two were seen leaving together after the match.
Since then, their relationship has unfolded in the public eye, with Swift supporting Kelce at two Super Bowls and Kelce accompanying Swift on her record-breaking "Eras Tour."
