Taiwan-based actress Ariel Lin reunites with husband, who resides in the US, only once every 2 months

Taiwanese actress and singer Ariel Lin revealed that she and her husband, businessman Charles Lin, see each other only once every two months, as she resides in Taiwan while he works in the U.S.

According to Yahoo, Charles Lin has been based in the U.S. for over a decade, while Ariel Lin, their two children, and both families remain in Taiwan. Ariel Lin noted that their long-distance arrangement is likely to continue for at least another 10 years.

She emphasized that physical distance is not a problem, but emotional distance would be. She and her husband openly share even the smallest details of daily life and their feelings, which helps maintain a harmonious marriage. She said she feels she married the right person, always feeling comfortable and happy with Charles Lin.

The actress believes that in marriage, the balance of joy over sorrow is key to sustaining a relationship. She and her husband share interests in reading and traveling and rarely argue, attributing their harmony to shared life values. While they acknowledge challenges, including daily expenses, they prioritize each other’s happiness and tackle difficulties together.

Ariel Lin also strives for independence, both financially and emotionally, noting that reliance can bring insecurity. Three months after giving birth to her second child, she returned to work to promote "Blind Love", a film she produced and starred in that was filmed before her pregnancy.

She explained that being a full-time homemaker does not suit her temperament, as it drains her energy. She feels she needs creative space in acting to maintain her mental well-being and recharge for other pursuits.

Achieving career success while maintaining family life provides Ariel Lin with essential energy. In raising her daughter, she encourages reading stories about independent girls pursuing their passions rather than princess tales waiting for a prince to rescue them.

Ariel Lin, 43, grew up in poverty after her parents divorced. She was first discovered through a Taiwanese beauty contest and made her acting debut in 2002. She gained international recognition with her role in the 2005 Taiwanese idol drama "It Started with a Kiss" and released her first music album in 2009.

She married Charles Lin in 2014.
