Rare photo of Chinese actor Hu Ge with 11-year-younger wife revealed

As reported by The Straits Times, the photo from a casual dinner posted by Hong Kong actor Damian Lau captures Hu with his arm around Huang, both clad in black. The photo quickly spread online, propelling the hashtag "Hu Ge and his wife in one frame" to trend on Weibo, amassing over 160 million views within a day.

The Star noted that Hu surprised his fans by revealing the birth of his daughter and his marriage in a Weibo post in Jan. 2023. He explained that he had kept his marriage and his wife’s pregnancy private to ensure a smooth delivery.

While the 42-year-old actor did not reveal his wife’s name or share any photos at the time, Chinese media later confirmed his wife as his longtime personal assistant Huang, who is 11 years younger than him.

Hu first gained fame from his role in the 2005 television series "Chinese Paladin" and has since appeared in a string of successful series including "The Little Fairy," "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," and "Nirvana in Fire."

His most recent project "Blossoms Shanghai," a period drama series directed by the acclaimed Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai, won him the Best Actor award at the Shanghai TV Festival’s Magnolia Awards in June.
