Public debate over Mark Zuckerberg’s apparent gaze at billionaire Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez’s chest

A debate has ignited on social media over Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s reaction to the outfit of Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, at the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Daily Mail reported that Sanchez attended the Monday event in a tailored blazer paired with a lace corset featuring floral detailing.

A video later went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, appearing to show Zuckerberg glancing down at Sanchez’s chest. The clip sparked widespread debate, with some criticizing Zuckerberg’s actions and others focusing on Sanchez’s choice of attire.

"Eyes up Zuck," one X user commented.

"Maybe Mark Zuckerberg is human after all?" another user wrote.

Christine Quinn, a real estate expert known for her participation in Netflix’s "Selling Sunset," also weighed in with sharp criticism.

"And as for our favorite Lizardman, Mark Zuckerberg—his cold, dead eyes were locked on her cleavage like he was trying to program his next algorithm off it," she said. "WTF is going on America."

American commentator Megyn Kelly, on the other hand, targeted Sanchez for her outfit. She accused the billionaire’s fiancée of dressing "like a hooker," adding: "Have some dignity and some respect for your setting and your circumstances.

"No-one should be talking about your tits, sorry, they should be talking about the inauguration."

Sanchez, 56, is an American journalist, author, and philanthropist who first gained fame as an entertainment reporter and news anchor.

In 2018, rumors of her affair with Bezos, 61, began circulating while the Amazon founder was still married to MacKenzie Scott, 55, according to Yahoo! Finance. Reports by the National Enquirer suggested that a shared passion for helicopters helped bring Sanchez and Bezos closer. At the time, Sanchez was married to talent agent Patrick Whitesell.

Bezos and Scott finalized their divorce in 2019, with Scott receiving a US$38.3 billion settlement in Amazon stock, according to Bloomberg. Sanchez also finalized her divorce that year. She and Bezos announced their engagement in 2023.

As of Jan. 23, Bezos’ net worth is estimated at US$247.7 billion, making him the second-richest person in the world, according to Forbes.
